Acheleia - Agia Varvara 9.5KM Circular

This is a relatively easy walk. It's very flat and runs up the Ezousa River Valley from Acheleia, then crosses the river and heads back via Agia Varvara. This route is a hybrid, some of the route is linear and some is circular. We got our feet wet on this walk as we had to wade through one of the river crossings. So I was glad I brought sandles to change into.
I set of early on this walk (7AM) as the temperatures were climbing and I hadn't had time to aclimatise. Much of the return route to Agia Varvara was in shade as the sun was low in the sky. That said it was a great time of year to do the walk as the valley was lush and theere were seven ponds or small lakes which we passed as we headed up the valley.
The surface was good on wide roads or tarmac all the way round.
